ANDREW G. SIMON
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, BROKERAGE SERVICES
Andrew G. Simon serves as Executive Vice President of Helmsley Spear focusing on investment sales as well as commercial office leasing transactions.
Mr. Simon brings more than over 35 years of diverse experience in the real estate industry, initially as a leasing professional, and then transitioning to the investment sales/capital markets side of the business. Mr. Simon has leveraged deep relationships on the Landlord side of the business to introduce off-shore institutional quality investors to local operators and developers to provide investment capital for repositioning of existing assets, or to provide equity partners for new acquisitions and developments.
Mr. Simon has had a varied career. As a tenant agent, he has represented over 25 international banks in assisting with their space searches, many of them multiple times, and was part of the team that renewed Bristol Myers in a Headquarters Lease restructuring for 840,000 square feet at 345 Park Avenue.
As a Landlord’s agent, he was the initial leasing agent for both Tower 56 and 600 Lexington Avenue when they were first built in the 1980s. He also represented New York Life in its NYC REO portfolio in the 1990s, which resulted in overseeing the leasing, management, asset management, project management and marketing, and in the case of 44 Wall Street, a fully marketed sale of the asset. More recently, Mr. Simon represented Korean institutional capital in a partial interest acquisition of 101 Avenue of the Americas, the first such direct investment by a Korean institution in NYC.
Mr. Simon has concluded leasing transactions in excess of 2.5 million square feet as well as closing investment sales of building in excess of 1,000,000 square feet.
Mr. Simon earned his BA degree from Tufts University. Mr. Simon resides in New Jersey with his wife. He has two grown daughters and recently became a grandfather.
